Business Profile: Pack-Age Inc.
Losing your job is a tough knock for most people, but for Dave Ponzo this crossroad put him on the road to success. After Dave lost his job in early 1999 he decide to start his own packaging company. In March 1999 he got an office, an accountant, developed a logo and put together a business plan. His plan was to provide packaging and related business services to small to large manufacturers, as well as individual consumers. In May 1999 he launched Pack-Age Inc.
By the fall of 2001 things were going well for Dave, and his company won the Newmarket Chamber of Commerce's Best New Business award. Meanwhile Pack-Age continued to grow. Today the company is located in a 7000 square foot warehouse on Gorham Road in Newmarket, employs six people full time and is approaching the $2 million mark in sales. Dave says that within a year the company will again require more space.
